Poem

God's well-beloved Son

Came down to earth,

Angelic voice proclaimed

His humble birth,

Heavenly multitude

All joined to praise our God

For in that manger rude

Lay Christ the Lord.

Jesus was born to die;

For this He came,

To go to Calvary

With all its shame;

There all our sins He bore,

Endured God's judgment sore,

Oh how our hearts adore

And praise His Name.

He is in heaven now,

In glory lives:

Seated at God's right hand

Salvation gives

To all who trust in Him,

Who died their hearts to win,

He'll wash away their sins;

Yes Jesus lives.

Soon He will come again

Into the air,

To call His own away

To heaven so fair;

His Father's house above,

Our home of joy and love,

His peace we'll ever prove,

His glory share.
